The Saxon Palace (Polish: Pałac Saski) was a magnificent Baroque-style palace in Warsaw, Poland, that served as the official residence of the Polish monarchs until the partitions of Poland in the late 18th century. It was originally built in the 17th century and was remodeled several times throughout its history.
During World War II, the palace suffered significant damage and was eventually demolished in the 1950s by the Communist government. In the 21st century, there have been plans to rebuild the palace and restore it to its former glory.
Today, only a small section of the Saxon Palace remains, including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier which was originally built as the palace's grand entrance in the 18th century. The remaining fragment serves as a symbolic reminder of the palace's former magnificence.
